Martha Seretta is an educational consultant who works with families individually to offer personalized guidance and expertise, and to help identify and broaden educational possibilities for the student.
She believes that the college search process need not be overwhelming for families. With a trusted and knowledgeable partner, it can be an opportunity for students to grow and gain confidence.
Martha has over a decade of experience working with students and parents at the independent secondary school level. She has advised, coached, provided residential support, and guided hundreds of families from around the world through the admissions process. Martha served as an Associate Director of Athletics at Deerfield Academy before finding her admissions role at Northfield Mount Hermon in 2010. There, she found her passion for helping students realize their full potential through educational opportunities.
Martha graduated from Bay Path University and completed the UCLA College Counseling Certificate program with distinction. She is a Professional Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and the New England Association for College Admission Counseling (NEACAC). In 2017 she attended Summer Institutes and tours dozens of college and university campuses each year.
Outside of work, Martha is a parent of three nearly grown children who have all attended four-year liberal arts institutions in New England. College visits became a way of life for several consecutive summers, and touring campuses with her children sparked Martha’s desire to continue this journey with other college-bound students. Martha is committed to using her knowledge of the higher education landscape to add significant value to students’ college exploration processes.
“We first met Martha as our first point of contact during the admission process for secondary school. She later became my son's advisor his freshman year. She was immediately engaging, informative, and very approachable, making sure my son's transition was stress free and positive. Martha's unique ability is to understand each student's needs, strengths, and weaknesses and to nurture them towards reaching their potential. We are grateful for her professional guidance and sincere approach and highly recommend her to all in need of a gentle thoughtful and effective touch.”

“Throughout the entire process, Martha showed exceptional intuition about teenagers, combined with patience and an ability to counsel parents as well. She could establish an immediate rapport with our son, getting him to open up and allowing her to see the potential in him that he may not have seen himself. We are truly grateful to Martha for her ability to help us navigate what can be a stressful process in such a logical and reassuring way. We have no doubt that she can replicate this experience for families going through the college admissions process as well.”

"Martha takes a holistic approach to completely understand her students on all levels. This allows her to provide invaluable insights and guidance. She is a very effective communicator with both students and parents, which is a vital aspect to the process. Her follow-up is outstanding when addressing issues, concerns as well as making sure critical timelines are met. We were delighted to have Martha as our son’s academic advisor."
